Social dance has been around for many years. It shows that dance is not only an art form but a way for people to come together and enjoy themselves. The dances we have chosen reflect styles of social dance that are still used today. The Twist and the Chicken Dance are two dances which close the generation gap. From young to old, these dances are recognized. These dances allow an individual to engage in a group dance in a no pressure situation. The two dances also contain the common element of simplicity. The simplicity of the dances and the history from which these dances came from gave rise to their ever-growing popularity.
